Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor federal legislative activity relevant to FPBP’s policy priorities, including proposed bills, hearings, votes, and public statements by Members of Congress.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date voting records and background profiles on legislators.
- Stay informed on FPBP’s policy positions and legislative objectives, serving as an internal and external resource for staff, members, and Congressional offices.
- Conduct timely research and prepare supporting materials such as briefing memos, backgrounders, and issue summaries.
- Assist in developing advocacy strategies and policy proposals.
- Attend relevant public events such as Congressional hearings, briefings, press conferences, and forums, and produce written summaries for staff use.
- Contribute to internal and external communications, including policy documents, emails, and updates for FPBP members.
- Provide general administrative support to senior policy staff, including scheduling, coordination, and note-taking.
- Perform additional duties as needed in support of the team’s legislative and policy efforts.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in Congress, the Executive Branch, public policy, or the private sector.
- Strong interest in advancing a robust U.S.-American partnership.
- Familiarity with the legislative process, Congressional structure, and federal policymaking.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth research, synthesize findings, and draft high-quality written materials.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce and Smartsheet is a plus.
Compensation & Work Environment:
The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $62,600, commensurate with experience and qualifications. FPBP also provides a comprehensive benefits package that supports employee wellness, professional growth, and work-life balance. This role follows a hybrid schedule, with three days in-office and two remote days per week.
